6/28/26 – Collectors & Keepers
Turns out there is so much going on in my body and life for an active recovery situation. There is so much that needs to happen to allow us to live life. It’s hard to fit it all in the day, sometimes!
I was just contracting the muscle while exhaling in my lower left obliques / psoas, to try to loosen them up, while simultaneously pushing on these SUPER tight muscles that are contracted, but don’t want to let go!? They’re ‘on’ but they won’t let go? They’re getting the excitation signal, but no inhibitory? What are “external” inhibitory signals? Active stretching?

Leaving London at King’s Cross!
It’s the morning, we’re on the train making our way to Belgium. We’re all keepers of information. Collectors, if you will? We collect and gather, process it, and make patterns with it. What type of information will I pass on, one day? Will it be useful? Will anyone actually find my experience worthwhile or helpful?
If necessity is the mother of invention, it just makes me think about all the advancements throughout history, and how necessity drives so much of this! I really am hoping to make something with myself? I wonder what that will be?

Finally made it to Brussels! let’s get this layover out of the way and get to Amsterdam!
Had quite the layover in the train station in Brussels…. That wasn’t ideal, but I’m so glad we made it to Amsterdam! This city is beautiful!! Let’s try to have some fun!

Making our way thru the Netherlands!
Wow!! what a view here at the hotel here in Amsterdam!

This was quite the trip to get here, but boy am I glad we finally made it!
I am stoked to have been able to try some of the local food here with Callie! This was great!

Turns out lots of Frites!
We also were able to make our way around town too! I was very excited to be out at night in a city again! It’s been a long time since I have had the chance to be able to hangout and have fun in the evening like this!

6/29/26 – We Need More People Like You
I’m shook right now! My left leg is squeezing and pulling into extension right now!?! What is this!?! He’s not squished, pulled to my chest, or anything? Also my feet are feeling. Crazy full as well! Especially into my ankles! What was it about yesterday that did this? All we did was travel all day to Amsterdam? Was it the giant stretch to my left adductor?!?
Some random stranger walked up to me, and goes, “we need more people like you in the world” and then said this to Callie too! We were eating at the Heineken restaurant close to the city center? What spurred this comment?! What did he mean!? This was quite the comment to make with no additional context or anything, I’m still kinda wondering what this all could mean?!

We made it on a canal tour! I found a boat company that was wheelchair accessible, Blue Boat Company! I think these guys were the only wheelchair accessible boat! we saw so much of the city this way, it was great! I honestly had no idea Amsterdam had so many canals…… shows how much I knew about Amsterdam before we came!

We had quite the experience on the phone with KLM Airlines, turns out they didn’t call and notify me that my ticket was CANCELED! I think because I had booked assistance for the wheelchair, and didn’t call again and confirm that I was in a wheelchair, they canceled the flight? This was odd because they said they were going to call me first! And then when I was following up, trying to be a good traveler in a wheelchair to confirm the assistance, they had said the tickets were canceled?!?!?! This was AWFUL! we had to spend maybe ~3hrs on hold with them getting this all sorted out! NOT what you want to be doing on your vacation!

We had a fun night exploring the streets and bars of Amsterdam! what a fun city, quiet, and fortunately with the Freewheel, it wasn’t bad for me to get around!
6/30/26 – Flight to Bergen
We had our last meal in Amsterdam! Goodness this time flew by! we will have to come back! There is so much to see and do in this city, 2ish days was NOT ENOUGH!

Breakfast at the Hotel was great!
The Uber from the Airport to Bergen was really exciting! All the tunnels were great!

these guys really know how to build and dig tunnels, holy cow!

Never been in a tunnel where it goes in multiple directions!? This was new!
Went for a walk outside the hotel to get a drink! Fortunately the weather was pretty good today as well!

We were traveling so much around it was nice to finally sit down and get a drink to try to relax!
Well we made our way to the other side of the city, to where the Floibanen is! this railway / mountain cable car was so steep! I am excited for the view of the city from up here!

Can confirm – killer views!

This was an awesome way to get a view of the city, holy smokes!
When we were up here, I also met this cool Troll, over by some biking trails? I wonder what he was up to?

7/1/26 – The Big Fjord Day!!
Okay, so here goes nothing! we have a trip planned to head out to the Fjords for the day! I am really excited to see what’s out there!

This is a pretty big boat! I have no idea how wide these Fjords are over here, I am guessing that it’s gotta be pretty substantial of a river / body of water?!?!
This city is really beautiful from the water vantage point!

We went with Fjordcharter Norway Mostraumen, we booked off GetYourGuide, and they were also wheelchair accessible! Which was great! A breeze to get on, we got seats up front, and off we were!

The boats used for the oil rigs here in Norway were MASSIVE! These ships definitely got me thinking about all the engineering that goes into not only the ship, but how they are managing and handling all the natural gas off the shores of Norway! I believe Norway is the largest exporter to the EU for Natural Gas. It’s pretty amazing seeing these ships up close and first hand! They are not like the Lakers I am used to on the Great Lakes!
And then the views started coming! Holy smokes!

Also the rain came finally! I know they told us and warned us that it’s a bit rainy in Bergen! so Callie hopped outside for some pics while the rain came thru!

Alot of these views didn’t even seem real! So cool!

And just like that, you see the cliffs plunging deep into the clear water below! I was amazed at how these Norwegians carved out their little villages between the rocky mountains, and the deep fjords!

Also, the Amount of Waterfalls!! I can’t remember how many waterfalls the guide told us there were, but when it’s raining, its alot!

Now this was the end of where the Fjord was able to take us! Up to the little village of ‘Mo’!
I always wonder what in the world do people do who live all the way out here??

Amazing views here!
What a place to have a farm?

Now this outcrop was really interesting,

This we were told, was where the Vikings did some sort of rituals? Apparently they also worked the landscape to flatten the top of the mountain? So crazy! Pretty interesting outcropping, no wonder the folks way back when were interested in this place!

Just in love with the cabins here too! Man that would be cool to have a place like this to go to!

Not too many had places with alot of access to the water, it was cool to see the few that were able to manage a boat landing!

Okay so here’s the logging I was expecting to see! I knew there was going to be some of this somewhere, I just didn’t know where?!

Making our way back, and we get to see the other side of the Fjord! Some of these towns are really interesting on the water! Knarvik is the name of this one!

I think it might have been the one with the really interesting church? I was trying to look things up at the same time! If you squint hard in the photo you can see it!

Interesting Lutheran Church of Norway!
Some of these cruise ships are MASSIVE! This was really cool to be able to see from the water!

Making our way back into Bergen, and the Oil Field Ships are back at it!

Hotel on the water?! So Cool!

And we made it back! This is the newer version of the Fish Market!

What a killer way to get a view of Bergen, the Fjords, and Norway in general! This was so great!
The city center too had some really cool Viking Statues as well!

Also not sure who this fella was, but really cool!

And Kinda spooky….

I looked up who Henrik Ibsen was, and he was an old Norwegian Playwright! The pictures on Google were not this cool! haha!
We also had a sunny afternoon!!!

Got to enjoy a drink out in the city center! Everyone was outside trying to soak up the sun before the rain comes back!
OH MY GOODNESS! It was so light out soooo long!!!

The sunset here was around 11:05pm!!! We were up for a long time!! This was quiet a spectacular way to enjoy the city! We had so much light out for activities!
Also, doesn’t this hotel kinda remind you of Squid Games?

what a wild hallway!
7/2/26 – Pulled from All Directions
It’s hard being in this body sometimes, GOODNESS! It’s a distractor when I’m trying to enjoy this holiday, goodness! We have been having fun, but it’s tricky sometimes!!
We had to do some laundry, found ourselves a laundromat!

Callie got some new clothes! We went shopping today!

Had a drink outside of the old Bergen area! This was a cool spot as well!

We made our way to have another drink before we made it back to the Hotel! we had a fun chat with one of the locals!

7/3/26 – Train Day!!
Got up, got moving on this drizzly day, and made our way to the train station!! This is going to be a pretty exciting train ride!!!
I unfortunately feel myself getting tighter and tighter with the lack of movement, outside of the chair. It’s tough to feel the gains you’ve worked so hard on go away. Very tough. I need to change this, and get in the braces!
Let’s see how this train ride goes!!

Absolutely stunning!

Also, how do I get a cabin on a lake like this?!!?

I am pretty sure, that you can only get to some of these remote towns by train only! How cool!

what a spot!

Cement ‘Car’ for the trains?? Yes sign me up!

These farms out here are absolutely stunning! How cool would it be to own one of these and have these views everyday!

Great spot for a Kayak and Canoe.

This has got to be one of my favorite photos! I can’t believe it sometimes, it doesn’t even look real!

Made our way into Oslo!

Excited to see what this city has to offer as well!
Hotel Hobo has some cool vibes as well! They had a DJ playing music in the bar! How cool!

Yum!

What a day!
7/4/26 – Day in Oslo!
Squeezing a signal thru a treacherous path, that doesn’t have a lot of room to travel thru is an interesting way to think about our nervous system healing in our bodies? I always wonder what helps facilitate this growth?
Okay — Deichmann Public Library in Oslo??? 10/10

How cool of a place to get books and some coffee!!

Eggs are not cheap in Norway!…… Neither are beers for that matter….
The Opera House in Oslo was really cool as well! very modern, and lots of folks walking in and around!

So much to see in this city too! We headed down and around the marina, to try to get a better view, and found some cool old buildings around the old Fortress!

Had to stop to get a drink on this walk!

We had to go and find some luggage! Our one suitcase definitely lost a wheel and this was NOT going to fly on our way back home! so we had to make a trip to the mall / train station and find a luggage store!

This freewheel is working really well!! I WOULD NOT have been able to get around as easy as I did without it! This was absolutely a game changer!

After a long day, we found some fast casual here in Oslo! Very good burgers and this mexican street car bowl! super tasty!

We just had an amazing chat with this Albanian fella! He talked about relationships, and why Callie and I are so special together! Talked about how special and unique Callie is in comparison to ladies he sees in Norway.
As he saw us walking in to the hotel bar, he could see how she was helping me along and getting us through to hotel lobby. He noticed something special about her, and how she was helping me. He doesn’t see this very often?
Loyalty, and sticking thorough with each other, he places alot of value in. It was really interesting to have had such an awesome conversation, with a random stranger, in our last night out on the town? How odd, but also really special! Thank you kind sir!
My legs are doing some really interesting things during times of passive input! This has been very interesting to note!
CBD balm on my legs is really making a big difference on my hip flexors and hamstrings at night when I go to bed! It’s really helping them relax, when they need to learn how to relax! I wonder how they would do during activity with the balm on?
Last night in Oslo! What a fun trip!! We had fit SO MUCH in these past two weeks, goodness!! We are both tired! Very glad we got to experience such cool places, but also will be glad to get home.
