Had Jake, Janel, & The Boys over today to hang out!! it’s always great when we have visitors. It feels nice to be able to talk and see everyone that I haven’t in quite some time. Although it’s not on the best of circumstances, I still really appreciate and love all the support. I have a lot of great family around me.
8:00pm and Hank is cooked! boy is it fun teasing and playing with these little guys! They still love their Uncle Joe, so that feels good to know!

Callie and I have been talking about a trip for her to come visit me for my birthday! I am so excited and extremely grateful for her! I still can’t believe she not only wants to talk to me, but still wants to see me!
She’s never been to Michigan before, and she just got a new Volkswagen Passat! I think this will be a fun and exciting trip for her! I’m so excited to see her!
I have ALOT of independence List Items I need to try to cross off before she comes to visit! It’s got me a bit stressed, but I like that I have some goals to try to achieve with some timelines as well!
My PT’s said it would be great IF I could try to stay with her overnight…… so I will have to see what I can do to try to manage that?! More to come on that front!

This has been great! At TRP they are having me do all sorts of fun and interesting techniques! They had me in, what’s called, Blood Flow Restriciton (BFR) therapy cuffs! It’s when you occlude the blood going to your legs, and that limits the supply of oxygen. So for the same amount of work being done on your legs, you get an amplified effect because of the lower level of oxygen! Kinda cool, eh?

I love being able to use my legs more every day! I really gotta put it to Maddie and Anthony for helping me out day in and day out!

The kids are back to school! Boy does it feel surreal to be back in Michigan, back in my parents place, and seeing the kids heading off to St. Peter’s. It’s so crazy because that’s also too where we all went, and here are the young ones now doing the same! It’s kinda cool, and oh so bittersweet, because I’m just over here trying to recover. Crazy.
I’m happy to be able to see them all grow. It reminds me of myself, and my siblings. As a child you never think about all of the things that could happen to you in life, and I sure as heck would have NEVER thought this accident could have happened. Ugh. More pain in the ribs. Fun.

Garrett came to visit!! This is the first person from Milwaukee to have made their way over to Michigan to come see me! I feel super grateful that he came over!! We spent HOURS chatting! It was really awesome he made it over here to see me like this, what a friend!

Wow, busy week! Lots of PT! It was another busy and full week! I’m grateful for that even though my ribs aren’t…..
Seeing these young lads out in the mud. Man oh man do I itch to get back to that! glad to see them running around and having fun!
